How can I search by length of residence or year built?

The Length of Residence/Year Built filter is found under the Housing section of the database. These criteria allow you to refine your search by how long a consumer has lived at their address or when the home was originally built.

Length of Residence
This option filters consumers based on the number of years they’ve lived at their current address. It can help identify long-term homeowners versus recent movers.

To search by length of residence:

  • Enter the starting number of years in the “From” field (minimum value is 1 year)
  • Enter the ending number of years in the “To” field (maximum value is 50 years)
  • Selecting 50 years or more will include anyone who has lived in the same home for half a century or longer

Year Built
This option filters consumers based on the year their home was constructed. It’s useful for industries such as remodeling, insurance, or home repair, where the age of a home influences needs.

To search by year built:

  • Enter the earliest year in the “From” field (starting value is 1700)
  • Enter the latest year in the “To” field (the current year)
  • Example: Entering 1950 to 1975 will show households with homes built during those 25 years
