How do I omit, exclude, or suppress records from a list?
When building a business or consumer list in Salesgenie, you may want to exclude certain records to refine your targeting. The OMIT filter criteria lets you remove records that match specific characteristics, helping you focus on the most relevant prospects for your campaign.
OMIT filters are available at the bottom of the Filters panel on the right-hand side of the screen. They work like any other filter, but instead of including criteria, they exclude or suppress matching records from your list.

Common OMIT Filters
- Line of Business / SIC (business only)
- Area Code
- ZIP Code / Carrier Route
- City / County / Metro / State
- Tags / Lead Statuses
Consumer-Specific OMIT Filters
- Make / Model / Model Year (applies to U.S. Consumers + Automobile Data)
Advanced OMIT Options
- OMIT: Saved List: This filter provides the most flexibility. It allows you to create a saved list (using any combination of data characteristics) and exclude it from your new search. Use this option when other OMIT selections don’t apply.
Tip: Exclusions are especially useful when using Salesgenie’s marketing tools, as they help you narrow the audience for a more precise marketing message.
