When building a consumer list in Salesgenie, you can refine your search using Filters to target households and individuals based on detailed demographic, lifestyle, and behavioral data.
After clicking Search for Leads from the top of the Home page, open the Filters panel on the right-hand side to begin narrowing your results. Each filter you apply reduces your list and displays a black circle with a count as confirmation.

Categories of Consumer Filters
Geography
- Target by state, metro area, city, ZIP Code, radius, carrier route, neighborhood, or street
- Search by area code or phone number (full or partial)
Pro Tip: If you apply overlapping geographic filters (e.g., state + city), Salesgenie includes the larger footprint but counts each record only once, so no duplicates appear in your list
Consumer Characteristics
- Age (exact or range), gender, marital status, household income, number of children
- Lifestyle interests, purchase history, investment activity, and technology use
- Ethnicity, language spoken, and more
Automobile Data
- Vehicle ownership details including make, model, year, and purchase dates
- Number of vehicles owned
Note: VINs (Vehicle Identification Numbers) appear in downloads but cannot be used as selection criteria
Housing Selections
- Type of residence, length of residence, size of home, home value, boat ownership
Sensitive Data Selections
- Criteria such as actual age, 65+ grandparents, mortgage data, and number of credit accounts
Marketing Selections
- Contacts per household
- High deliverability scores (mailability)
- Phone numbers (available only with an approved Subscription Account Number [SAN] from the FTC)
Exclusions
- Omit specific data from your list. For example, filter by income but exclude a certain vehicle make and model
Pro Tip: Filters don’t just help you find new consumers—they can also enrich or verify your current customer database.
